Kids in the kitchen & a pumpkin treat!
Hey guys! This is Amanda coming to you from Kentucky. I have 3 kiddos and today I want to talk about something I did that changed motherhood for me a little. You are going to read this and probably think duh, Amanda. But really, I had to learn to chill out. So keep reading, and you'll get a treat at the end!
I've often times in my motherhood had weeks on end where I feel like my kids and I are constantly at odds with each other. Especially my oldest through her 3's. She's strong willed and so amazing, but she tests me a lot ha ha. I've had the thought many times, what is my life?!? I'm fighting with an at the time 3 year old, and losing, almost daily!
One day it was like a light bulb went off -have her help you more-.
So, that's exactly what I did. I started saying yes more but most of all I started asking her and her brother if they wanted to help me. Even thought I knew it was going to take forever and would be way harder. (See the garbage truck video on our insta feed @mommamobsquad!) One way I knew I could get them involved with me was in the kitchen. You know what? It was LIFE CHANGING! Seriously. If you are struggling with your kids, try inviting them to be involved. Even in the little things. It made all the difference in our house. Now I just need to remember this when the baby turns 3.
Ok lady, long enough, what does this have to do with cookies? Get too it. Alright, alright. But first, the real question.
Are you a pumpkin lover?! I am one of those who runs out to buy everything pumpkin October 1.
So, here is or favorite fall treat that the kids can help with, tastes delicious, and is ridiculously easy. Plus it's healthier than other options. No, it isn't healthy, just healthier than some others you could eat (I'm looking at you pumpkin cheesecake!).
Ingredients:
1 box Spice Cake Mix
1 Can Pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
Chocolate chips (as many as you like so you know there are a lot in my husbands.)
Mix all the ingredients together. I bake them at 350 for 10 minutes. Longer if needed but I like them really soft and delicious.
These are great to make on a whim. Literally no prep and everyone likes them. Now go eat one, or 20 because remember, they are healthier ;)

Oh my cookie sheets. I've had new ones on my Christmas list... for 3 years. #priorities |
